Water For Life Project

‘The Messenger of Allah (saw) was asked, “Which charity is best?” He replied, “[Providing] water”’. [Abu Dawud]

IEPR is trying to save lives by providing clean water for people of Pakistan!

Facts about clean water in Pakistan!

It saves lives! With 842,000 people dying from diarrhea alone each year, unsafe water is the single biggest obstacle to the health of communities in the developing world. Small children are especially vulnerable to cholera and diarrheal illnesses, and unsafe water compromises their immune systems as well, making it difficult for them to fight any illness.

16 million people in Pakistan have no choice but to drink dirty water, and rapid urbanization is making accessing safe water even more difficult.

It saves lives!

An estimated 250,000 children in Pakistan under the age of 5 years die every year due to waterborne diseases.
WHO reports that 25%-30% of all hospital admissions are connected to water borne bacterial and parasitic conditions with 60% of infant deaths caused by water borne infections.
The vast majority of the people do not have access to clean drinking water in Pakistan.

You can build a well in someone else’s name

On the authority of Sa‘d bin ’Ubadah  that he said, ‘O Messenger of Allah! Umm (mother of) Sa‘d has died, so which charity is best?’  He (saw) replied, ‘[Providing] water’. He (ra) said, ‘So [Sa’d] dug a well and said, “This (well) is for Umm Sa‘d”’. [Abu Dawud]
